In 2013 after finishing graduate school, I thought I had my life all figured out. (I know you did too, let’s laugh together!) I graduated with my Bachelors in Public Health in 2011 and right after pursued my dual Masters in Public Health and Master of Arts in Public Policy. Luckily, I landed a job right after in healthcare and moved into my 1st studio apartment in the NYC. Little did I know I would encounter so many financial struggles graduate school and Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City failed to prepare me for.
Reality smacked me in the face quickly, as I realized my student loan payments were kicking in and the rent was due every four weeks. With a limited amount of income and money saved in the bank while in graduate school, I slowly created a system that would help me master my glow up plan aka my budget.
Fast forward to now
My financial savvy skills have opened up many possibilities for me to do what I love more often. Most of which include traveling, traveling, and more traveling. With discipline and money management systems in place, I have been able to travel frequently even while paying off student loans and credit card debt. If you’re ready to get your money right and hop off the money struggle bus, you’re in the right place. Ready to get your finances together?
